Data recovery from HDD Seagate ST2000DL003

Although we have been working in the data recovery field for a long time, we still encounter new cases. This case is unique because the user noticed that their computer was running very slowly. Using the well-known Google search, they determined it was due to the disk and, after reading several success stories, decided to “fix” it using HDD Regenerator, which, according to its description, should repair bad sectors. As a result, the computer froze and Windows OS would no longer start; the read/write head assembly was damaged (see photo). Only after all these actions did the user realize that very important photos (a family archive) remained on the disk. Upon receiving the disk, we had no choice but to replace the read/write head assembly with a donor part.

The data was successfully recovered, although this step would have been unnecessary if not for the user’s experiments.

P.S. If you notice something wrong with your disk, every action you take greatly increases the risk of permanent data loss. We are ready to assist you at any time of day! You can reach us via the website chat, email, and of course, by phone. Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
